Now I'm the first to admit; This is not a site dealing largely with originality. Conversions of other people's work is most definitely the bread and butter of my site. Hence the name.
But as Mr. Meatloaf has so astutely put it, there are somethings even I will never, ever stoop to. For whatever reasons, you will not see ANY of the following on this site. EVER.
For Legal Reasons
- Anything by Todd McFarlane [Palladium fans will know why already; As you may or may not know, Todd Macfarlane threatened to sue Palladium for having a game named "Nightspawn". Rather then waste time in a legal battle, Palladium simply changed the name. I for one am NOT going to risk giving the bastard a bigger target then that, despite the niftiness of Psycho Circus.]
For Taste Reasons
- Street Sharks [I was watching this at one point with my younger brother at one point, when I caught myself thinking "Hey, those guys are like mutant sharks. And that diving power is like Earth Swimming...". After clubbing myself back to my senses with a bowling ball, I resolved to NEVER convert this. I hereby authorise anyone out there to bump me off in the most horrible way imaginable should I ever try this. PLEASE.]
- Animorphs [Okay, it was cute and even semi-interesting at first, and I don't know WHERE this book series took a nose dive into the john, but it did. I'm not touching this. Not for yiff nor money.]
- Power Rangers or anything remotely similar [No. Nonono. No no no no NO NO NO!]
- Pokemon or anything remotely similar [See above.]
- Small Wonder [Someday, in some dark corner of Net fandom, you may see the stats for the android Vicki, but not here. This, by the Gods of Light and Darkness, I do hereby swear!]
- Silverhawks [I saw the pilot for this. My only response is as follows: "AGGH! AAAAHHHHH! OH DEAR SWEET MOTHER OF GOD THE PAIN! KILL ME GOD! I PRAY FOR DEATH! AAAIIIIEEEE!!!"]
For Mechanical Reasons
- Star Wars [As far as I'm concerned, the existing system for this works just fine. No need to reinvent the wheel, after all.]
- Dragon Ball Z [Ick. Even I can't bring myself to introduce this. I mean, there is no possible way using these kind of chars could ever not totally destroy the Palladium game balance without killing the essential core of DBZ. Regretably, I must therefore abstain.]
- Saint Seiya [See above, which is a goddamned shame is what it is.]
- Star Trek [There's just no way I can properly fit this in with ANYTHING.]
- Neon Genesis Evangelion [Ditto.]
- God [If you can suggest how I can reasonably represent a omnipotent, omniscient being, then let's hear it.]
- Any and all Games from the Palladium System [Need I elaborate?]
